Appearance is important, we all agree on that. What happens then, when one fine day you wake up to find yourself heavier with fatty deposits in places they should not be? Yes, we are talking about cellulite, the pesky cosmetic condition that affects both men and women. To be honest, cellulite seems to have a fondness for women, affecting almost 90% of women at some point, as they age.
The Menace of Cellulite
Cellulite is nothing but fat deposits under the skin that appear lumpy or dimpled. The fat may give the appearance of lumpiness because it pushes against connective tissue. The common trouble areas prone to cellulite are the buttocks, thighs, stomach and arms.
Problems of Cellulite
Even though cellulite may not be as dangerous as obesity, it still has its ill effects:
- There is no denying it, cellulite is unsightly. Alas, you have to bid goodbye to clothes that show off your body.
- Cellulite causes the rise of nervous pressure with severe pain.
- It may also produce distortion of lower limbs, since fat may deposit itself in enormous proportions.
- You may have irregular sleep patterns and insomnia due to severe cellulite and some of its factors.
- All this manifests a disorder to your nervous system.
- It can affect young, thin people as well.
- Your cheeks may become rounded which is a sign of swollen tissues.
- When the swelling comes down , you are left with wrinkles,
- By the effect of cellulite, even the young faces fade rapidly and start looking older than their actual age.
Causes Behind Cellulite
Cellulite affects people who consume fatty and salty foods, carbohydrates, fast food, processed food or alcohol.
Whether you like it or not, there are some things from which there is no escaping, your genes for instance! Your genes may predispose you to the effects of cellulite; factors like race, gender, slow metabolism may be taken into consideration.
- Other factors
A poor diet, fluctuating hormones, lack of exercise, total body fat, fad dieting, yoyo dieting, and a slow metabolism are all contributing factors.
Tips to Reduce Cellulite:
- Proper check on the diet to minimize cellulite
A healthy diet goes a long way in aiding the reduction of cellulite. Your diet must include lean protein, high fiber like whole grains and vegetables, essential fatty acids and unsaturated fats, green leafy vegetables like spinach, plant based proteins like beans and soy, foods high in vitamin C like tomatoes and citrus fruits etc. On the Dr Oz Show, guest Kimberley Snyder certified nutritionist recommends some anti-cellulite detox food for reducing cellulite such as cilantro or coriander, oat grouts or unprocessed natural oats, grapefruits, oranges and lemons. These are considered super detox foods.
- Exercise regularly and see the effects of cellulite diminish
A regular workout is your best bet. Some workout moves target the cellulite area to effectively reduce cellulite. You can do a combination of dumbbell squats, standing calf raises, lunges, even reverse lunges, squats and side lifts, stomach crunches, advanced step ups with a dumbbell, scissor press, etc. Do 10 to 15 repetitions of these exercises 3 to 4 times a week to see visible results.
- Use a Cream to eradicate cellulite
If you really want to eradicate cellulite completely you need to follow a proper diet plan along with exercise and use creams that contain ingredients such as Adiposlim, Adipoless, Hyaluronic Acid and Chenopodium Quinoa Seed Extract. Dr Oz, on his show, recommended creams that include 2 important ingredients Retinol and Caffeine as they dissolve fat and even the skin to give a smooth appearance. These 2 ingredients have scientifically proven that they can make a difference by fighting cellulite.
Just ditch fast food, junk and anything that makes its way to your hips and thighs. If you really want to see a difference in your body, a dramatic change in lifestyle is absolutely necessary.
